Theatr Gwaun are delighted to announce that Cause For Drama will be bringing 'Cinderella' to Theatr Gwaun in January 2026.

Come along and see if Cinderella can overcome her father’s new wife the Baroness and the two beauty.... (ugly) sisters. Will she manage to find her Prince Charming?  Whose foot will the crystal croc fit?  Will Buttons find love? Only one way to find out.

At one of her lavish parties, celebrated Parisan courtesan Violetta is introduced to Alfredo Germont. The two fall madly in love, and though hesitant to leave behind her life of luxury and freedom, Violetta follows her heart.

But the young couple’s happiness is short-lived, as the harsh realities of life soon come knocking. As intimate as it is sumptuous, La Traviata features some of opera’s most famous melodies, and is a star vehicle for its leading soprano role sung by Ermonela Jaho. In director Richard Eyre’s world of seductive grandeur, the tender and devastating beauty at the centre of Verdi’s opera shines bright.

With the National Eisteddfod visiting Pembrokeshire in 2026, it is appropriate for us to honour one of its most famous sons, the poet and peace campaigner, Waldo Williams.

In this Welsh language presentation, we will look at the close connection between his life experiences, his philosophical ideals and poems, and consider the relevance of his words in today’s world.

This performance is supported by the Arts Council of Wales’ Night Out Scheme.
