The debut album from Filkin’s Drift captures the essence of their 870 mile walk, ‘weaving together a tapestry of shared experiences’ (Songlines). Their compositions are sophisticated, yet rooted in tradition. Kind Hearts and Coronets was voted number 6 in the BFI list of best British films of the 20th century!  

This brand new stage version is adapted by Derek Webb from the original novel by Roy Horniman, on which the classic Ealing comedy was based.

The original film starred Alec Guinness, who played all six murder victims. This new adaptation also features one actor playing all the victims.

About the play:  Archie Gascoyne Williams is a man on a mission.  He comes from a long, illustrious (and very wealthy) family – that of the Gascoynes – through his mother. But she was disowned by the family because she married beneath her rank, by marrying a travelling salesman in ladies’ underwear. Nevertheless, as Archie discovers, by the laws of heredity, he is in line to inherit the title of Earl Gascoyne (and the family fortunes) should the intervening Gascoynes die. So he decides to set about working his way up the family tree until he inherits the Gascoyne fortune by the simple expedient of murdering those members of the family who are in his way. And, besides having his eyes set on the Gascoyne title, he also has his eye on Sibella, the extrovert, sexy sister of Archie’s best friend Grahame Hallward, as well as Edith Gascoyne and a nursery maid. Life’s never simple, is it?

Addaswyd y fersiwn llwyfan newydd sbon hon gan Derek Webb o'r nofel wreiddiol gan Roy Horniman, y seiliwyd y gomedi glasurol o Ealing arni.

Alec Guinness oedd seren y ffilm wreiddiol, a chwaraeodd ran pob un o'r chwe pherson lofruddiwyd. Mae'r addasiad newydd hwn hefyd yn cynnwys un actor yn chwarae rhan yr holl ddioddefwyr.

Ynglŷn â'r ddrama: Mae Archie Gascoyne Williams yn ddyn mentrus. Daw o hen deulu, disglair (a chyfoethog iawn) - teulu'r Gascoynes - trwy ei fam. Ond cafodd hi ei gwrthod gan y teulu oherwydd iddi briodi islaw ei rheng gyda gwerthwr dillad isaf menywod. Er hyn, mae Archie yn darganfod ei fod, yn ôl deddfau etifeddiaeth, yn debygol o etifeddu teitl y Iarll Gascoyne (a ffortiwn y teulu) pe bai'r Gascoynes rhyngddynt yn marw. Felly mae'n penderfynu dechrau gweithio ei ffordd i fyny'r goeden deulu nes iddo etifeddu ffortiwn Gascoyne, wrth lofruddio'r aelodau hynny o'r teulu sy'n ei ffordd.
