The Audience

By Peter Morgan

Directed by Stephen Daldry

Returning to cinemas for the first time in over a decade, Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II in the Olivier and Tony Award® -winning hit production, directed by Stephen Daldry.

For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

Peter Morgan’s Netflix phenomenon The Crown was based on this hit play that was captured live from London’s West End in 2013 and went on to become one of the most-watched NT Live productions.

The Audience

Gan Peter Morgan

Cyfarwyddwr: Stephen Daldry

Gan ddychwelyd i sinemâu am y tro cyntaf ers dros ddegawd, mae Helen Mirren yn chwarae rhan y Frenhines Elizabeth II mewn cynhyrchiad llwyddiannus a enillodd Wobrau Olivier a Tony®, wedi'i gyfarwyddo gan Stephen Daldry.

Am 60 mlynedd, cyfarfu'r Frenhines Elizabeth II â phob un o'i 12 prif weinidog mewn cyfarfod wythnosol preifat. Gelwir y cyfarfod hwn yn y ‘The Audience’. O Winston Churchill i Margaret Thatcher a David Cameron, cynghorodd y Frenhines ei phrif weinidogion ar faterion cyhoeddus a phersonol. Trwy'r cyfarfodydd preifat hyn, gwelwn gipolwg ar y fenyw y tu ôl i'r goron ac yn dyst i'r eiliadau a greodd frenhines.

Roedd ffenomen Netflix Peter Morgan, The Crown, yn seiliedig ar y ddrama boblogaidd hon a ddaeth yn fyw o’r West End yn Llundain yn 2013 ac a aeth ymlaen i fod yn un o gynyrchiadau mwyaf poblogaidd NT Live.

With 29 performances to date and bookings stretching to the end of the year, their repertoire spans stirring Welsh classics, humorous local poetry, and dramatic recitations from Under Milk Wood. Highlights include appearances for the RNLI, the Royal British Legion, the Fishguard Invasion Reenactment (in the presence of the First Minister), and a moving civic service at St Mary’s Church accompanied by a Scottish piper. The Choir had the great honour of being the first Welsh Male Voice Choir to perform at the Tower of London in the Choirs@TheTower event in December 2025.

Led by musical director Tony Jones and chaired by Dorian Williams, the choir is more than just a musical group—it’s a fellowship. Members describe it as “the best thing that’s ever happened to them,” a place where friendships flourish and voices rise in harmony.  Whether performing in pubs, at civic events, or gala dinners, the choir proudly represents the spirit of Fishguard and Goodwick, bringing joy, unity, and a touch of rugby club mischief wherever they go.
