STEVENS AND POUND

BBC Radio 3’s award-winning Delia Stevens and three time BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year nominee, Will Pound, present an unprecedented collaboration, following the creative evolution of the classical composers inspired by folk music .

Driven by a maverick curiosity, having stumbled upon a completely new world of sound, they combine the traditional instruments of Pound's melodeon and harmonica with the dizzying array of Stevens' percussion. Whilst paying homage to their respective musical roots, coupled with imagination, they create an extraordinary sonic arsenal.

Their creative process of recomposition sees folk musician Will Pound learning scores exclusively by ear, blending complex classical structures with the fluidity of folk music, reinterpreted through the lens of traditional music and beyond. Classically trained musician Delia Stevens draws on the sheer invention of the world of percussion. Together they transform their collective past into an imagined future.

Dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf, bu’n llwyddiannus yn ennill ysgoloriaeth Eisteddfod yr Urdd 2024, ysgoloriaeth Nansi Richards yng Ngwyl Gerdd Dant 2024, ac ennill gyda’i thelyn yn yr Wyl Ban Geltaidd 2023, yn ogystal a dawnsio gwerin a chlocsio gyda band twmpath TwmpDaith yn L’Orient. Nawr, mae hi’n astudio Cerddoriaeth ym Mhrifysgol Glasgow. Dyma gerddor wedi selio’n gryf mewn hunaniaeth Gymreig a llen gwerinol.

Cadi is a triple harpist and folk singer from Sycharth, Tanat Valley, with a repertoire inspired by the Welsh traditions. Over recent years, she’s won the Urdd Eisteddfod Scholarship 2024, Nansi Richards Scholarship at the Gwyl Cerdd Dant 2024, won with her harp at the Pan Celtic Festival 2023, as well as clogged and folk danced with Welsh ceilidh band TwmpDaith at the L’Orient Interceltique Festival. Now, she studies Music at the University of Glasgow. She is a musician rooted in Welsh heritage and folklore.

ELIZA BRADBURY

Eliza is a talented young musician living in Pembrokeshire. Nearing the end of her performing arts course in college, she is delighted to have been accepted a place at Leeds Conservatoire this September to study Music and Drama.

Eliza started playing the harp at the age of seven years old and passed grade 8 harp with distinction at the age of 14 years. Along her journey, she has mastered other instruments to include piano, voice and guitar and has spent her time since, performing in various concerts, competitions and supporting local charities.

Recently, she performed in the Urdd National Eisteddfod Under 19 Solo Harp competition, and gained 1st place medal last year, with a local wedding in the mix and also won the bursary for this year's Abigail's Arts Awards in Theatr Gwaun. She will be performing at the College graduation ceremony in St Davids Cathedral in July.

Wrth iddi fynd ar ei theithiau cerddorol, mae hi wedi meistroli offerynnau eraill gan gynnwys piano, llais a gitaryn, a bu hi'n treulio ei hysbryd dros y amser yn perfformio mewn cyngherddau, cystadlaethau a chefnogi elusennau lleol.

Yn ddiweddar, perfformiodd yn y gystadleuaeth Eisteddfod YR uRDD Genedlaethol yr  Delyn Gyntaf dan 19 yn, a chael medal 1af y llynedd, gyda phriodas leol yn y cymysgedd a chanddi hefyd ennill y bursary ar gyfer Gwobrau Celfyddydau Abigail eleni yn Theatr Gwaun. Bydd hi'n perfformio yn y seremoni graddio o'r coleg yn Eglwys Gadeiriol Tyddewi ym mis Gorffennaf.
