In 1916, as WWI rages on, a choral society in Yorkshire has lost most of its men to the army.
Determined to press ahead, the Choral’s ambitious committee engage a new chorus master, the driven and uncompromising Dr. Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes), who is left with only teenagers to recruit. Amidst the chaos, they experience the joy of music as conscription looms.
